What is Circle K, and why is my club in the Seabreeze Division?
Circle K International (CKI) is the world’s largest student‑led collegiate service organization.
Built on three tenets:

Seabreeze is one of New Jersey’s CKI divisions (alongside Metro and Garden) led by a Lieutenant Governor.
CKI empowers students to serve communities, grow as leaders, and build lifelong friendships.
What are the benefits of being a dues‑paid Circle K member?
Leadership & skills
: roles at club/district/international levels; workshops, conventions, project management, public speaking.
Community & networking
: connections across the Kiwanis family, members/alumni/advisors on many campuses.
Service resources
: partners (e.g., UNICEF, Active Minds), Global Leadership Certificate, Tomorrow Fund grants (up to $2,000).
Scholarships & awards
: access to ≈ $7,000 in academic scholarships and recognitions.
What leadership opportunities are available in Circle K?
Club level
: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, editor, and committee chairs (elected annually).
District level (NJ)
: governor, secretary, treasurer, editor, and division Lieutenant Governors (elected at DCON); committee roles by application.
International level
: international president, vice‑president, trustees (elected at ICON); committees/task forces available.
Leadership builds planning, speaking, and project management experience while supporting clubs statewide.
How do Circle K membership dues work?
Amounts (NJ)
: $2 district + $32 international; clubs may add a local fee (ask your treasurer).
Timeline
: dues collected in fall; early bird by Nov 1; final deadline Dec 1; membership runs Oct–Sep.
What dues cover
: club initiatives (if local fee), district programs/events, and international resources, training, and conventions.
Joining later
: clubs can add members mid‑year by submitting dues; coverage lasts through the service year.
Are there service hour requirements for members?
No strict minimum
: focus on consistent, quality service; recognition exists for high dedication.
What counts
: unpaid activities benefiting others/campus/community (events, tutoring, clean‑ups, drives, nursing homes, etc.).
Other credit
: qualifying travel over 30 minutes, charitable fundraisers, and up to 100 hours of administration.
Doesn’t count
: purely social events, general meetings, personal fundraising not for charity, or paid work.
